Lefkadia Country Hotel
Lefkadia Winery, Krymsky District, Krasnodar Region, Russia
Year: 2021
Context
The Lefkadia Country Hotel was developed within the territory of the Lefkadia winery complex in the Krasnodar Region.
The project was conceived as a premium countryside retreat with a strong wellness orientation, combining винодельческая культура, природный ландшафт и оздоровительные практики. The location features pronounced topography and panoramic views toward a mountain range overlooking the valley.
The architectural concept integrates hospitality, landscape, and health-focused functions into a unified resort environment.
Design Approach
The site is characterized by steep terrain and expansive views. Thirteen guest cottages were positioned along the slope to maximize panoramic visibility while preserving privacy.
Each cottage includes:
- Individual panoramic view toward the mountain system
Buildings were carefully placed within the relief to ensure that every unit maintains its own visual corridor without obstruction from neighboring structures.
All timber structures were executed in solid cedar to enhance the ecological and therapeutic qualities of the architecture. Cedar was selected for its durability, natural aroma, and health-supporting properties.
Masterplan Composition
The hotel complex includes:
- 13 private guest cottages
- A bathhouse complex with its own pond
- A 12-unit boutique hotel specializing in apitherapy and the use of bee products
- An administrative building with a 40-seat restaurant
The apitherapy hotel is designed with a corridor-based layout. The restaurant building accommodates dining facilities on the ground floor and administrative offices on the second level.
Spatial Organization of Guest Cottages
Each cottage follows a three-part spatial division:
- Central zone: shared living room and large bathroom with dedicated sanitary area
- Right wing: master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe
- Left wing: kitchen and entrance area
This tripartite layout balances privacy, communal space, and functional clarity while maintaining strong visual connections to the surrounding landscape.
Structural System
- Primary structure: profiled solid timber construction
- Structural material: solid cedar
- Façade system: profiled timber, 190 mm thickness
- Roof insulation: 400 mm wood fiber insulation
The timber system provides both structural integrity and atmospheric warmth, reinforcing the resort’s ecological and wellness-oriented identity.
Façades and Envelope
The façades express the natural texture of profiled cedar timber. The envelope combines solid mass with panoramic glazing, creating a dialogue between interior comfort and open landscape views.
The architectural language maintains a balance between rustic material authenticity and contemporary hospitality standards.
