Private Residential House in Vishnevy Settlement Chelyabinsk Region, Vishnevy Settlement Year: 2018
Context The client commissioned the design and construction of a private residence on his plot in Vishnevy Settlement. The house was intended for single occupancy, with the possibility of weekend visits from his children, who live separately from their father. The brief called for a distinctly contemporary architectural language while maintaining timber-based envelope structures. The house was envisioned as a modern yet warm and tactile environment, combining structural clarity with natural materials.
Design Approach
A timber fachwerk structural scheme was selected as the primary architectural and structural concept. The exposed structural rhythm defines the spatial character of the building, while large panoramic glazing opens the interior toward the surrounding landscape. Key design priorities included:
Contemporary architectural expression
Timber envelope structures
Large-format glazing
High acoustic performance between private rooms
Fully concealed engineering systems
Internal partitions were carefully designed to achieve maximum sound insulation, ensuring privacy during family visits. All mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were integrated within lightweight framed internal walls to preserve the purity of the architectural volumes.
Spatial OrganizationFunctional Program
Master bedroom
Two children’s bedrooms
Living room combined with kitchen
The spatial layout is organized around a central communal living area, with private sleeping zones positioned to ensure acoustic separation and visual privacy.
Internal partitions: lightweight timber frame construction
Insulation: wood fiber insulation
The structural frame provides both architectural expression and spatial rigidity, while the profiled timber infill creates a solid and thermally efficient envelope.
Façades and Building Envelope
Exterior walls: glued profiled timber
Wall thickness: 250 mm
The combination of exposed structural rhythm and large glazing panels creates a balance between solidity and transparency.
Engineering Systems The house is equipped with a comprehensive and fully integrated engineering system, including:
Mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation with integrated humidification
Concealed air-conditioning units
Gas boiler heating system
Hydronic underfloor heating
Hydronic convectors
Water supply with circulation system
All systems were designed to ensure comfort during year-round operation while remaining visually unobtrusive.
