This private residence was designed for a client with a plot of
land in a high-value suburban area. The property included a
challenging topography, with an existing house on flat terrain
and an adjacent wooded ravine.
The task was to design a full-scale modern home within the
ravine, featuring:
  • 3 bedrooms

  • 3.5 bathrooms

  • Private sauna

  • Contemporary architecture integrated with the landscape

Architectural Concept
The house is divided into two volumes:

1..Private Zone (Lower Volume)
  • Embedded into the ravine slope

  • Hosts all bedrooms facing a private, forested courtyard

  • Green roof shaped to match the natural terrain, providing
usable landscape and insulation

  • Creates a peaceful outdoor space protected by natural
surroundings

2..Public Zone (Upper Volume)

  • Suspended like a bridge between the ravine slopes

  • Contains the kitchen, dining area, living room, and sauna

  • Sauna volume extends to the opposite slope, providing a separate exit to a winter garden and plunge area

Site Zoning
The architectural solution creates three distinct outdoor zones on a compact site:
  • Zone A – The Ravine Courtyard
Quiet, shaded space adjacent to the bedrooms. Offers privacy, tranquility, and covered area beneath the suspended public block.

  • Zone B – Green Roof & Eastern Meadow
Sunlit and accessible area for family recreation, seamlessly integrated with the forest and topography.

  • Zone C – Northern Forest Zone
Private access from the sauna to the natural landscape; used for cold exposure rituals,
winter bathing, and seasonal relaxation.

Parking Platform
At the upper site entrance, a steel-framed platform accommodates two cars and two motorcycles, serving as a physical and visual extension of the architectural "bridge" concept.
